Research abstract

ISX proposes to design a novel low-volume hot gas propulsion system for missile translational maneuvers. A hybrid rocket motor hot gas generator, custom thruster diverter valve assembly specialized control system and an attendant guidance algorithm should null the missile body axis rotations during a translational maneuver. Simple vehicle planar (3 DoF) dynamics coupled with hardware element and control system models will be used to build a simulation to validate the designs.
