Research abstract

The work proposed for Phase I has been formulated with the objective of defining a basis for developing and fielding a computer based tool for selecting and performing trade studies on multimedia. The basis will be drawn from theory, research, and successful cases of multimedia instruction directly related to Navy applications. The proposed Phase I effort will focus on specification, grounded in sound pedagogy and practicality, of an intelligent tool that guides practitioners, whatever their level of instructional and media technology or content domain expertise, through the analysis process to determine and document how, when and for whom the multimedia can be used, its logistic impact, life-cycle parameters, and estimated costs/benefits.
