Research abstract

HIGH POWER ELECTRONICS DEVICES SUCH AS POWER SWITCHES GENERATE LARGE HEAT FLUXES, WHICH MUST BE REMOVED, OR THE DEVICES WILL EXCEED THEIR UPPER TEMPERATURE LIMITS. MOST COOLING METHODS ARE INCAPABLE OF REMOVING SUCH LARGE HEAT FLUXES. MERIX CORPORATION PROPOSES TO DEVELOP A HIGH EFFICIENCY COOLING DEVICE TO REMOVE THESE HEAT FLUXES IN A PRACTICAL MANNER. THE DEVICE WILL FORM THE BACKBONE OF AN INTEGRATED THERMAL MANGEMENT SYSTEM FOR HIGH POWER CIRCUITS.
