Research abstract

Recent cutbacks in military manpower and equipment have necessitated the ability of various platforms to intercommunicate vital targeting and classification information. Many of these platforms to intercommunicate vital targeting and classification information. Many of these platforms use different tracking and classification techniques. In addition, communication bandwidth limitations and covert operation considerations limit the amount of information that may be transmitted. Thus, receiving platforms often have little knowledge of the accuracy of the information or whether a report is considered a best estimate or a hard solution. Determination of the accuracy of the information can be of paramount importance, yet there are few means currently available to provide reliable estimates of state vector quality.
