Research abstract

As with military and aerospace applications, high power sources with low mass and volume ar desirable to satisfy miniaturization goals for commercial uses including powering automotive miro-sensors, smart cards, personal digital assistants and hand-heldtelecommunication tools. In this proposed Phase I research, we are going to develop a screen printing process of fabricating thin film Zn-alkaline battery/supercapacitor hybrid power pack on plastic and on-chip:i.e. a micropower-on-chip technology with lowcost. Power soucre for military use sensors, electrostatic actuators and mcirogyroscope of MEM devices, Memory back-up in space application and smart cards.
