Research abstract

THIS PROPOSAL DESCRIBES AN SBIR PROJECT TO RESEARCH AND DEVELOP GALLIUM ARSENIDE ANALOG PREPROCESSING ELECTRONICS (GAPE) FOR INFRARED FOCAL PLANE ARRAY (IR-FPA) SENSORS. TOP-VU TECHNOLOGY PROPOSES AN INTEGRATED ANALOG PREPROCESSORWHICH USES GAAS LINEAR INTEGRATED CIRCUITS FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE READOUT AND PREPROCESSING FUNCTIONS IN LINEAR Z-DIMENSION. THIS IS TO FILL THE NEED OF HIGH-SPEED PREPROCESSING REQUIREMENTS BETWEEN THE IR-FPA AND THE CONVENTIONAL DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSOR. THE FOCUS IS TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN SIGNAL PROCESSING. THE MERITS OF THE TWO PROPOSED CONCEPTS WILL BE EVALUATED FOR INFRARED SENSING APPLICATIONS: 1. GAAS LINEAR INTEGRATED CIRCUITS (ANALOG MICROCELLS) IN PERFORMING READOUT AND PREPROCESSING FUNCTIONS. 2. GAPE ARCHITECTURE USING GAAS ANALOG MICROCELLS.
