Research abstract

A variety of dynamic test techniques have been used and documented over the 'years. All dynamic test techniques as well as available facilities will be investigated and documented. A criteria will be developed to determine the best methods and facilities for measuring dynamic effects. It will include such items as the facility availability, model requirements, practicality of the data system, tare measurements, potential errors and applicability of the measured data. Raw dynamic data or reduced data, produced by those techniques will be analyzed to determine their characteristics and applicability to the technique. Test parameters of frequency, amplitude, and air velocity as well as model tare effects will be examined. A phase II proposal will be written to test and verify the selected techniques. The verification will include comparison of the measured results of single and multiaxis axis rates. Test parameters and configurations as well as data acquisition software requirements will be specified. Phase II data will be measured for a flight tested configuration and the results used in a simulation to validate the beat methods results. An alternate validation will be to use multiaxis motion time histories of a test model for comparison to Simulation results with dynamic data.
