Research abstract

This project will develop a design and proof-of-concept demonstration kernel for an Integrated Data-Model Assimilation Package (IDAP), appropriate for high-fidelity synthetic scene generation and other modeling and simulation applications. IDAP will integrate an existing data access and analysis package, the Visual Interface for Space and Terrestrial Analysis (VISTA), and an existing high-fidelity scene generation capability, the Synthetic Scene Generation @del (SSCM), and leverage from the experience and software from preliminary work in this area being undertaken by NRL. The five objectives of the work are to: assess the capabilities of an SSGM Data Driven Module; establish priorities for IDAP functionalities; identify data-model assimilation tools and techniques to meet the above priorities; develop a detailed IDAP design; and implement and test a high priority IDAP functionality as a proof-of-concept.
