Research abstract
CoreTek Inc. proposes a novel photorefractive device that combines appropriate properties of new multiple quantum well and low temperature grown GaAlAs technologies to surpass by an order of magnitude previous material performance shortfalls. Our proposed devices will have nearly ideal characteristics for optical correlation and other 2D image processing applications: diffraction efficiency >6%, response time of 1(u)s at 1W/cm(2) and spatial definition of ~3(u)m. In Phase I, we will test the feasibility of the approach by fabricating and testing sample devices.
