Research abstract

The capability to easily bisect young embryos to produce identical twins in non-human primate specideveloped. This application will fulfill the need to increase the number of genetically identical prof embryos, for animal reproduction management. A new apparatus will be developed and designed to prapplication requirements. It will give scientists of the reproduction biology community, access to cand unprecedented control over embryo splitting. Embryos, after dissection by laser ablation, or sinmanipulated using optical trapping with no need for cumbersome mechanical micromanipulation tools. Tbe semi-automated, reliable and very simple to perform. It will constitute a major improvement overAfter proving the technical feasibility of the proposed scientific concept, the prototype apparatussimple and user friendly commercial device. A comprehensive protocol for the production of identicalprimates will also be published.
