Research abstract
The proposed effort will expand and modify an existing Team Performance Assessment Battery by: (1) Expanding its preliminary format to include an improved generic teamwork simulation content area. (2) Establish an increasingly sophisticated teamwork measurement technology (to include TARGETS, ATPI, and teamwork complexity-based measurement technologies). (3) Modigy the software to include an expanded measurement technology. (4) Assess the useability of the modified simulation, and (5) Conduct a content validation of the expanded measurement system. The modified system will be sensitive to effects of team composition and individual difference variables, and will be designed to simulate requirementsss for team member cooperation. The software that generates the task will collect real-time performance measures from team members that can be used to evaluate individual and team contributions to performance. This effort will result in development of a second generation prototype version of a generic Team Performance Assessment Battery and specifications for software, hardware, and maintenance requirements for an operational Team Performance Assessment Device configuation to be developed in Phase II.
