Research abstract
Analysis of the characteristic interaction time for laser tissue irradiation suggests that picosecopulses will operate in a temporal regime where photomechanical effects are dominant. At least in thethis mechanism is expected to lead to an improved treatment. To access this new laser treatment regimust be developed. Current picosecond laser systems of energy in excess of 1 mJ are complex and costof a low cost laser is proposed here. The laser is based on an integrated oscillator/amplifier conceTi:Sapphire as the gain medium. The effectiveness of the laser to remove tattoos will be demonstrateanimal study.
