Research abstract
Bay Materials proposes to develop a oral cavity resident MEM sesnor capable of continiously monitoring the hydration state of a soldier. This minature sensor is based on a newly MEM osmolality detector invented by researchers at Northern ArizonaUniversity. The sensor will respond selectively to saliva osmolality which will be correlated with the subjects hydration leve. State of hydration is a key parameter in personnel performance, endurance and health maintainance. This sensor will allowearly detection and avoidance of personnel dehydratoin in adverse environmetns and operating conditions.
