Research abstract

Multiband, multicommunication nodes have the revolutionary potential of remote, autonomous operation of military and consumer products. However, such a technology will be a major challenge to state-of- the-art EMC technology. It is anticipated that the increasing use of HF, VHF, UHF, and SHF bands and the increasing trend towards higher frequencies in numerous consumer products is going to make this situation worse. Innovative technologies foe EMI mitigation is essential to avoid the degradation in the performance of co-sited equipment and to conserve and manage information bandwidth. Nanomaterials Research Corporation (NRC) proposes an innovative solution that can enable EMI mitigation between 5 MHz (HF) to 50 GHz (SHF, Microwave) frequencies in co-sited nodes, while also enable dramatic reduction in weight and size of the filters. Phase I will establish the proof-of-concept. Phase II will optimize and produce prototype filters. Phase III will commercialize the technology.
