Research abstract

The proposed research utilizes nanostructured electrode materials to create a high-performance battery. A novel synthetic method coupled with high-performance electrode materials lead to a high-capacity, high discharge rate rechargeable battery that caneasily replace current lithium-ion batteries in military and civilian vehicles, or man-portable applications. The proposed effort would lead to a novel battery offering high performance, ease of fabrication, and low cost. The potential commercialapplications include hybrid-electric automobiles, trucks, and even consumer products.
