Research abstract

"The portable signal identification training is concise and technologically achievable. The Technical Objectives include the following:1.Generate an intended use document specifying in sufficient detail how the system will be used in training in order to facilitate a high-level hardware system operability design and performance requirements specification.2.Investigate and identify available small-footprint COTS hardware that fulfills these system operational requirements.3.Research and identify if any signals software libraries exist, which ones are available for use in this system, and what the software interface requirements would be.4.Identify software `look and feel' training requirements of SOCOM and associated target users.5.Design and generate a signals' library software requirements document (SRD).6.Specify the automated student assessment system requirements.7.Generate a refined system interoperability document.8.Perform any necessary preliminary system integration and testing (bread-board).9.Finalize database design and begin coding.10.Finalize training software design and begin coding.11.Finalize real-time situation data, video/imagery system design, and begin coding.12.Finalize automated student assessment system and being coding.13.Determine the best, lowest power, easiest to use, and lowest production cost design possible.14.Determine per system cost estimate for Phase III.
