Research abstract

The enhanced remote imaging system we describe here is a breakthrough technology that advancesnational security. We note that other classical remote sensing telescopic techniques, that seekenhanced angular resolution, are generally not using all of the object information contained inthe received photons that our system uses. The ability to enhance working resolution over theclassical limit all the way to the quantum limit is a far-reaching problem that will have importantconsequences for many DARPA needs when it is practically solved with our technology. QLER(Quantum Limited Enhancement to Resolution) will demonstrate a Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF)-based super-resolution imaging (SRI) instrument and the Machine Learning algorithms that maturesuper-resolution technology so that it approaches the QFI limit for real-world telescope-basedapplications, including Space Situational Awareness (DoD) and astronomical coronography andexoplanet detection.
