Research abstract

Not Available An advanced imaging system utilizing conformal piezocomposite transducer technology optimized for integration with AUV's is proposed for shallow water imaging. The proposed system is expected to offer a number of performance advantages over conventional designs including high bandwidth, reduced sidelobes, low self noise, and improved image resolution and SNR. The proposed effort includes the fabrication and demonstration of a high bandwidth composite transducer for integration and deployment on the Florida Atlantic University Ocean Explorer AUV.
