Research abstract

Reflective SLMs capable of controlling the phase and amplitude of the reflected light allow the creation of small, light weight, low power heads up displays. Properly modulating laser light with the SLMs creates an augmented reality that reflects off of goggles or any other properly coated surface. Lasers have plenty of intensity to overcome inefficiencies in the reflective coating or the brightness of sunlight. Highly tuned coatings can effectively block the laser light from escaping the goggles while allowing outside light to enter with negligible absorption.
