Research abstract

A new advanced transient, nonlinear dynamic simulation technology is proposed for determining the operating characteristics of the gas turbine engine based on actual flight data and in-flight measurements. The analysis results are used to determine theuseful life remaining for each component in the engine. Improved engine maintenance procedures. Improved understanding of engine operating characteristics and events that lead to life limiting damage.
