Research abstract

SOFTWARE HAS BECOME EXPENSIVE; BY THE YEAR 2000, IT REPORTEDLY WILL BE A 2 TRILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY WORLDWIDE. TO REDUCE COSTS, IT IS VITAL TO REUSE CODE. OBJECT-ORIENTED (00) LANGUAGES ARE TOUTED TODAY FOR THE EASE WITH WHICH SOFTWARE COMPONENTS WRITTEN IN THEM CAN BE REUSED. DUE TO THIS CHARACTERISTIC (ALONG WITH OTHER BENEFITS FO 00 SOFTWARE), SOFTWARE VENDORS ARE BEGINNING TO WRITE CRITICAL APPLICATIONS IN 00 LANGUAGES. ALTHOUGH THIS HAS APPEAL, IT APPEARS THAT 00 LANGUAGES ARE DETRIMENTAL TO SOFTWARE TESTABILITY, MEANING THAT SUCH 00 SYSTEMS MAY REQUIRE FAR ,PRE TESTING. ORU INNOVATION WILL BE A WAY OF ASSESSING AND INCREASING THE TESTABILITY OF 00 SYSTEMS. OUR OBJECTIVES ARE TO DEMONSTRATE THAT 00 LANGUAGES ARE INDEED MORE LIKELY TO HIDE FAULTS, FIND NEW DESIGN AND TESTING SCHEMES TO INCREASE 00 SYSTEM TESTABILITY, AND DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF DEVELOPING A SOFTWARE TESTABILITY ASSESSMENT TOOL FOR 00 LANGUAGES.
