Research abstract
We design and analyse hardware that prevents enemy use of captured personal communication equipment and meets the following requirements: - It must effectively prevent enemy exploitation of captured soldier- borne personal communication equipment. - The hardware must be low cost and soldier friendly. - The enemy should not be able to access secret data, nor transmit misleading information. - There should no undue stress or burden on the soldier from these safeguards. - It should render itself useless when in enemy hands. System simulation will be carried out as proof of concept of the innovation. Anticipated Benefits/Potential Applications - A technique that renders soldier-borne communication equipment useless in enemy hands is vital for our forces to prevail and emerge victorious in a conflict. Real time battle management dictates that force deployment positions be known accurately. However, such information should not fall into the hands of the enemy, or the security of our forces will be compromised. Commerical leasing and rental agencies would be interested in such a device.
