Research abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF A NONLINEAR OPTIMAL GUIDANCE ALGORITHM FOR COMMANDGUIDED OR HOMING PROJECTILES THAT USE DISCRETE, IMPULSIVE CONTROL IS PROPOSED. THE NONLINEAR EFFECTS OF DISCRETE, IMPULSIVE CONTROL WILL BE EXPLICITY RECOGNIZED IN THE ALGORITHM USING STATISTIC LINEARIZATION THEORY, AND CONTROL WILL BE SUPERIMPOSED UPON A PSEUDOPARABOLIC STATE-SPACE MODEL OF THE SYSTEM. ASPECTS OF DIFFERENTIAL GAME THEORY WILL BE APPLIED TO INTEGRATE THE INITIAL TARGETING (GUNLAYING) AND TERMINAL GUIDANCE ASPECTS OF THE PROBLEM.
