Research abstract

Micro Analysis & Design, Inc. (MA&D) proposes to develop methods and tools that will support competency-based performance assessment and training analysis. The proposed tool set will integrate automated and manual strategies for capturing performanceinformation in order to evaluate individual and team warfighting competencies that are exercised using Distributed Mission Training simulation methods. The assessment methodology will represent competencies in terms of network models relating Measures ofPerformance (MOP) over task elements and training events. This approach will provide a common framework to support event-based performance evaluation, mission essential competency measurement, and training analysis. The proposed Phase II project willbuild on the Phase I efforts, and on other recent and concurrent work, to prototype an integrated set of performance assessment and training support tools tailored for the DMT environment.
