Research abstract

Additional improvements to the ER-DIFAR are possible through increased energy density and a reduction in space required for battery power sources. Triton Systems developed a battery power source prototype in a prior Phase 1 effort that is both smaller than the current state of the art and has a higher energy density. Higher energy density allows the ER-DIFAR to operate longer while a reduced size allows more volume for the DIFAR electronics to support additional compute power or sensors. During the proposed Phase 2 effort, Triton Systems will develop multiple battery units to testing within the ER-DIFAR and modify the design to meet newly established requirements for the ER-DIFAR.
