Research abstract

No integrated human model exists that can: (1) accurately model human surface and tissue, (2) integrate protective gear, (3) integrate work surround, (4) incorporate weapons effects, and (5) estimate injury due to weapons and impact. All of these features exist in various models, but nowhere do they come together so that combined and interactive effects are assessable. The present SBIR will survey the user community, assess existing models, and determine the suitability of object-oriented software development tools to determine how best to build a fully integrated advanced human model. These data will go toward developing a prototype architecture designed around object-oriented data bases and an easy integration of the planned and unanticipated functionality. The roadmap for a Phase II effort to develop the intgrated advance human model will be developed based on anticipated effort and realistic estimates for completion.
