Miniature Munitions Aerodynamic Global Positioning System (GPS) Receiver/Transmitter (MMAGRET)

This proposal describes an SBIR Phase I program to develop the system specifications and generate the hardware and software requirements for the MMAGRET. The proposed system requirements developent consists of researching appropriate technologies, accomplishing design tradeoffs and establishing a set of specifications based on performance, cost, and other criteria established during the synthesis of the system. The motivation is the need for accurate TSPI data on small, high speed platforms. The technology necessary to make this a reality is currently in hand, and what is proposed is a path to the design and development of that solution resulting in a low cost, producable device that can take advantage of the commercial technology that exists today. ViaSat is an experienced leader in wireless technology and all aspects of communication system design and is exceptionally well qualified to perform the proposed work.
