Research abstract

Current technologies for the Navy's Battle Force Tactical Training system provide tactical communication networks for live audio, but no methods for incorporating and synchronizing wideband data such as sensor streams, video, and imagery. Extensible AARAcquisition, Retrieval, and Storage System (EAARS) is intended to capture, compress, store, and play back wideband data in a common output format for After Action Review and integrated tactical training. Common distributed data acquisition units willgather and record data, potentially to a central repository, for direct access, retrieval, and management.
