Research abstract
MTL Systems, Inc (MTL) and the Knowledge-Based Software Engineering Lab of the University of Cincinnati (UC) propose System Capture, Synthesis and Evaluation Environment (SCSEE). Key technologies included in our proposal that will increase our likehood of success are: (1) MTL's simulation-Based Performance Modeling and Analysis technology and toolset to provide high fidelity and quality assessment of candidate system architecture; (2) UC's Software Synthesis technology developed under DARPA's RASSP program; (3) VSPEC, a language for requirements definition developed under the MANTECH's CEENSS program; and (4) MTL's expertise in Human Factors. We have set realistic and achievable objectives for Phase I, which will answer the questions necessary to establish feasibility. In addition, due to our team's expertise in the critical areas, we are able to offer a prototype SCSEE environment, including the user interface prototype, instead of a mere paper study. A prototype environment will provide an exceptionally strong basis for commercialization and for Phase II implementation.
