Research abstract

In this Phase II proposal, the Virtual Reality Medical Center will team with Strategic Operations and QUASAR to develop a simulation-based training system that incorporates the measurements of physiological data in order to determine the state of learning.QUASAR will develop a non-invasive, non-contact series of sensors that will measure the ECG, EEG, and skin conductance. This sensor suite will eventually be worn in clothing or manufactured as part of a headband or helmet. Strategic Operations will provideexpertise in the creation of a real-life-like tactical and trauma care training scenario using advanced techniques available to movie production studios. The VRMC will conduct a comparison experiment in which real-life training and simulation training aretested in a unique combination tactical/trauma scenario.
