Research abstract

The US Navy has a specific requirement of high energy density fuels for missiles. In addition, there is a need to enhance the range of current weapon systems such as missiles. The most important aspect of these fuels is the high volumetric energy density. The two leading hydrocarbon based high energy density fuels include JP10 and RJ5. The proposed innovation will develop a novel method to produce JP 10 from renewable feedstock.
