Research abstract

Smoke Free 2000 will use a systematic process to gather appropriate background information and materials to revise the publication "A Decision Makers Guide to Reducing Smoking at the Worksite." health promotion professionals from the JNS Health Enhancement Group of Tuscaloosa will work closely with the president of the Wellness Councils of America (WELCOA) and their 2100 affiliate worksites to gather background information on successful worksite smoking initiates and related needs of worksite decision makers. In addition, an advisory committee from WELCOA, a select group of recognized smoking and health experts identified by the Office on Smoking and Health will help guide the process. The outcome of Phase I will be the development and delivery of a revised and updated publication. This publication will be distributed through various governmental channels.
