Research abstract
Daily use of a sonic toothbrush has been shown to significantly reduce supragingival plaque, subginand periodontal pocket depth by combining mechanical scrubbing with cleaning beyond the bristles dueactivity surrounding the brush head. The primary objective of the current application is to furthersonic toothbrush. Laboratory evaluation of important brushing parameters will be conducted to assistenhancement. In vivo analysis of brushing patterns will compliment in vitro studies and lead to theimportant brushing characteristics. This approach to enhancing toothbrush efficacy may provide highoral health for both the general population and those with periodontal disease.National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
