Research abstract

Mountain Lady's Slipper populations are threatened when western forests are lost to overgrazing and forest destruction (fires, etc.) In addition, in-vitro cultures of this orchid have been very difficult and limited. This project is directed toward developing in-vitro methods of culturing this terrestrial orchid so that it could be reestablished in forest restoration programs and possibly developed for commercial use.
