Research abstract

The application of Indium Oxide, Indium Tin Oxide and Indium Fluorine Oxide is proving useful in all applications requiring a visibly transparent electrically conductive film which requires resistance to severe temperatures, relative humidity and potentially corossive environments. Applications include but are not limitted to de-icing of automobile windshields, EMI shielding of CRT screens, fire mask thermal protection, thermal control coatings for architectual glass, blue light hazard and UV protection for eyeglasses, military and commercial aircraft and Aircraft canopies and missile window apertures (i.e. Hellfire Maverick). By combining this material in a multilayer antireflection (AR) design of equally environmentally resistant material overall transmittance, thermal protection and environmental resistance of transparent face protection may be optimized over existing face shield protection coated with simple yet expensive thin single layer conductive semi-transparent metallic coatings (i.e.Gold) of poor abrasion and environmental resistance.
