Research abstract

Based on its unique design of optrobes and micromachining capability, LEEOAT Company is proposing to develop in phase I of the program a reliable fiber optic environmental smart sensor for remote and real-time quantative monitoring of chemical species. LEEOAT Company will conduct theoretical calculations on the spectral response of the sensor, and will optimize its configuration for maximum sensitivity and selectivity. This sensor will allow quantative measurements of minute quantities of chemicals, and will detect low concentrations of pollutants in the environment. The sensor system will be designed for monitoring chemicals for environmental remeidation and controlling functions.
