Research abstract

Princeton Innotech proposes to develop high power single mode photonic crystal based surface emitting laser devices which can be combined with other similar devices to deliver very high power narrow divergence laser beams. We have demonstrated feasibility of such devices in the past and this approach will be pursued further in this program leading to the desired high power surface emitting laser device. In this program, we would pursue a unique design approach for photonic crystal which gives good performance for our device design. We would design the devices, grow the wafers and fabricate the devices with photonic crystal layers for high power performance. We propose a two-year program during which multiple iteration of device design and fabrication will be done leading to the desired result.
