Research abstract
"The ultimate objective of this research is to develop a commercial electronic learning/testing framework with living content and an adaptable interface so convenient and powerful to use that it will become a conduit to collect training data as well asdisseminate it to all current and future depot workers. With a maintenance work force of over 700,000 personnel, the Department of Defense (DoD) is seeking to develop effective programs for training to make this workforce more efficient. Moreover, recentdata shows the average age of a DoD worker in the maintenance depots to be close to 50. While the depots are replenishing their aging workforce, they need the required training tools to quickly bring the new generation of workers up to speed. Althoughthere is ample evidence on the effectiveness of e-Learning (as we will demonstrate here), currently only less than five (5) percent of DoD training programs routinely use interactive training technologies. The proposed framework will allow DoD todramatically increase the usage of e-learning systems by placing at the disposal of the depot workers a flexible platform integrated with their work portal and accessible any time, anywhere, and on any device. The proposed framework for e-testing ande-training is about online training and knowledge management interacting with each other. Training, provided in the context of work processes, can help workers acquire new skills in a specific way and to a
