Research abstract
Businesses seeking to participate in NIST programs or to acquire technology from a federal laboratory are faced with a confusing myriad of starting points. Typically, time and money is expended to qualify the benefit of any program or technology. Even when the search is successfully concluded, it is common for the business or the federal contract to lack resources necessary to yield a commercialization result.
It is proposed to develop a focused process within a transportable program. To participate in an assistance program or acquire a technology, each selected business would be championed during the process in a manner which will make effective and efficient use of available resources, utilizing government programs in conjunction with private sector funding and personnel.
The program would be managed within a for-profit entity with strategic alliances with government, education and the private sector. Existing resources would be leveraged to attain maximum efficiency through contracted task delegation to entities best suited to perform given tasks.
The program would be provided to businesses reflecting economic justification for the assistance through measurable results in new profits. The program would be conducted within an optimum operating environment.
