Research abstract

RESEARCHERS ARE PERFORMING A FEASIBILITY STUDY CONCERNING NEW AND ADVANCED MATHEMATICAL MODELS FOR THE LINEAR AND NON-LINEAR ANALYSES OF LAMINATED PLATES AND SHELLS. THE FEASIBILITY OF IMPLEMENTING THESE MODELS INTO A COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE PRODUCT FOR THEDESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL AND MECHANICAL COMPONENTS FABRICATED OF LAMINATED COMPOSITES IS BEING ADDRESSED. THE SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTS THE RESEARCH RESULTS WHICH CLARIFY HOW RELIABILITY CAN BE ACHIEVED THROUGH THE USE OF ADAPTIVE PROCESSES FOR CONTROLLING DISCRETIZATION AND IDEALIZATION ERRORS. EXTENSION OF THE MODELS OBTAINED FOR LAMINATED SHELLS IS INCLUDED IN THIS FEASIBIITY STUDY. THERE IS A NEED FOR ADVANCED NUMERICAL SIMULATION SOFTWARE WHICH MAKES RELIABLE AND EFFICIENT SIMULATION OF MECHAAL AND STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS MADE OF LAMINATED COMPOSITES POSSIBLE. THE APPLICATION OF COMPLEX PROCEDURES NOT PREVIOUSLY AVAILABLE ARE INVOLVED.
