Research abstract

"The proposed research mimics the adhesive strategy of the tokay gecko to produce a novel, dry, self-cleaning dynamically modulated adhesive. A soft mat of artificial hairs allows the adhesive force of the sticky spatulae to be modulated. This facilitateseasy engagement and disengagement with the surface, as well as promoting self-cleaning."
