Research abstract

WE PROPOSE TO DEVELOP A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING CONTINUOUSMULTIFILAMENTARY HTSC WIRE WITH HIGH CRITICAL CURRENT USING AN INNOVATIVE ULTRARAPID TEXTURED GROWTH PROCESS. THIS PROCESS IS BASED ON EXPERIMENTS SHOWING LOCALLY ORIENTED GROWTH OF Y-123 BY METASTABLE CONGRUENT MELTING AND SOLIDIFICATION DURING TWO-SECOND RAPID ANNEALS. THIS METHODWILL BE DEVELOPED FOR PROCESSING CONTINUOUS Y-123 FIBERS FORMULTIFILAMENTARY COMPOSITE WIRE.
