Research abstract

We aim to bring this revolutionary X-ray technology to Air Force IED inspection and evaluation.á In addition to clearly showing small wires, the NCX lab scale system has also demonstrated the ability to penetrate metal surfaces and provide clear 3D images of objects on the other side of the metalásurface.á For the same input power, CNT X-ray tubes operate at approximately 40% greater efficiency than X-ray tubesáproviding greatly enhanced imaging quality for portable X-ray systems.ááThis new technology will drive a complete rethinking of how X-ray isáused in medical, security and military applications as NCX's CNT technology brings powerful, clear 3D imaging to these applications.áWe believe this NCX technology is at a TRL level 5 currently.
