Research abstract

The overall objective of this effort is to prototype, validate and successfully commercialize a professional quality process analysis tool kit for affordability (PATA) that includes packaging, training, and support. The PATA will consist of easily used tools that enable life cycle performance, cost and schedule affordability analyses and trades, both during the R&D phase of technology development, and during subsequent technology transition to acquisition and/or support. The Phase I goal is to design, develop, and demonstrate a prototype of the PATA that is based on an R&D Affordability Framework Reference Model (AFRM) and the user requirements of our strategic partners (The Science and Technology Directorate of the Air Force Material Command, and Texas Instruments). The demonstration will also help verify specific domain architectures and external application interfaces.
