Research abstract
The Department of the Air Force (DAF) has a vital and urgent need to advance military readiness while aligning with transformation priorities in support of the 2024 DAF Plan for Reoptimizing for Great Power Competition (RGPC). The Department of Defense (DoD) and the DAF have in recent years launched three strategic programs that August Interactive, Inc. proposes to weave together in service the DAF mission and every airman who serves it. Moreover, two of these, the 2022 DoD Brain Health Initiative and Air Force Gaming Program have validated the use of gaming to help airmen get mission-ready. August Interactive proposes Operation BLUE SHIELD, a custom, purpose-built video game that advances all three programs’ goals through a novel combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI), cognitive behavioral psychology, patented real time user state and game state engines, and a world-class, compelling game design created by industry trailblazers. It unique approach to AI technology focused on improving player outcomes would have wide commercial appeal among gamers, as well as for the edtech and mental health sectors.
