Research abstract

This Phase I project is intended to develop the GPS-based geospatial data capture system for in-theater use. A solution for a data storage unit is given in this project, which is a hard disk with the features of low vibration, moisture proof, acid and alkali resistance, and suitability for low and high temperatures. An innovative approach of the GPS/FACC Integration Query & Access Method (GFIQAM) is investigated to realize rapid and efficient database query and access with the aid of the PLGR sensor and a FACC-compliant dictionary. The Cutting and Reorganization Coverage Method (CRCM) is given to efficiently create a mission-specific database based on the GPS coordinates. The Database Update Based-on GPS/FACC (DUBGF) technique is provided in this project to value-add geospatial data. As an innovative method, this DUBGF will efficiently change the nodes, edges, faces, and rings by utilizing GPS coordinates and the menu options provided by the module's small screen. An interface design technique, referred to as the Integrated Menu Design Method (IMDM), is investigated in this project to realize the friendly human-machine interface with the advantages of ease of use, interactive operation and the ability of fault tolerance. The corresponding software package will be developed in this project. BENEFITS: With the ability to access and value-add vector database information using a PLGR interface, this system has many potential markets. It provides a solution of environment and resource information generation for the Environmental Protection Agency. It can also be used in the transportation industry, communications, power and water supply fields for geospatial data generation and update.
