Research abstract

Profitable markets for guayule resin and the successful development of hypoallergenic latex will assist in the development of guayule as a sustainable crop. The commercial cooperator expects to have 70,000 acres of guayule shrub available by 2005. This means that at the end of Phase II there will be 200 million pounds of resin available. The purpose is to find profitable markets for the 200 million pounds of resin.
