Research abstract

The major objective of this Phase I research proposal is to determine the feasibility of designing a computer-based decision support system that can be used to help provide effective and efficient planning of the training enterprise in terms of both demand and training resources. The main problem is to determine how to effectively forecast course demand and estimate the resources needed to support that demand. This work will identify the main features of the problem as well as determine how such a problem might best be solved. A functional description of the proposed approach will be produced and specific software languages and tools will be recommended as a basis for potential software development in Phase II.
