Research abstract

Aeternum is the only air contaminant sensor with an unparalleled combination of the following: modular, durable, accurate, self-contained, and easy-to-install features. Weather sensing capabilities are crucial for military operations within CENTCOM. Real-time weather information is unavailable for large areas where operations are conducted, directly affecting the capability for Airmen to make accurate forecasts. The U.S. Air Force has placed an emphasis on weather, hiring a team of over 4,000 individuals who assist with integrating weather data into the planning, deployment, and execution of operations, integrating it into decision-making, and allowing for an operational advantage. This has also led to an increased focus by the military and the Air Force to also fight air pollution, where a total of $3 billion dollars has been committed to fighting air pollution and treating its health consequences. Aeternum’s sensors can fill the need for a small, low cost, low maintenance sensor that can be proliferated throughout a region cheaply and transmit data efficiently and accurately. These sensors can be modular in nature, allowing the sensor to be tailored for various environments to maximize efficiency. The 378th Air Expeditionary Wing has identified a critical need for Aeternum’s sensors.
