Research abstract

Tribalco intends to investigate disparate communication technologies to identify USAF/AFGSC waveforms and systems optimal for SFP beta integration and discover how to iterate SFP to fully support AFGSC requirements. We intend to further investigate how this information and potential solutions resulting from the study will integrate into other areas of the Air Force, DoD, and non-defense areas, tailored to their operational specifications. Tribalco's Signal Fusion Platform (SFP) addresses a critical need for seamless interoperable communications across disparate radio nets, data/IP networks, and sensor inputs.Historically (and presently) USAF/DoD has maintained numerous radios/voice comms, sensors, and networks – many of which cannot interface with each other directly.  This becomes especially true when coalition/ally forces deploy with American warfighters.  CENTCOM recognized this as a particular capabilities gap over the course of the Afghanistan conflict and subsequently turned to Tribalco engineers for a solution. Since that time, Tribalco has developed a relationship with USAF Global Strike Command (AFGSC) and has discovered that they also face the same challenge of disconnected disparate comms abilities. Our objective of this Phase I study is to identify the necessary modifications to the SFP and formulate a plan to integrate it as a solution for AFGSC and beyond.
